Meston College of Education
Meston College of Education was established in 1937 by missionary pioneers in the field of education, to cater to the needs of graduates who aspire to become teachers. It grew out of the Wesley College, which was one of the pioneering Arts Colleges in the city of Chennai for over seventy years from 1861 to 1937. Meston Training College was founded in the name of Rev. Dr. William Meston, a distinguished Principal of Madras Christian College.
The College is affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, recognized by NCTE, UGC and Government of Tamil Nadu and re-accredited by NAAC. The College conducts academic programmes leading to B.Ed., M.Ed., M.Phil.(Education) and Ph.D.(Education) degrees. Emma Foulger Matriculation Higher Secondary School
Emma Foulger Matriculation Higher Secondary School was founded in the year 1981. It is a co-educational English Medium school and has classes from 1 to 12. The School also has a pre-primary section.
Meston Educational Rehabilitation and Research Centre
Meston Educational Rehabilitation and Research Centre (MERRC) was established in the year 1989. It is a residential Special School for the mentally challenged children who are the poorest among the poor. The Special School is now functioning from the new building established at Karikattukuppam, Muttukadu, near Chennai.
